We crossed the continental divide 10 times and stayed at 10 different places. \u00a0Here is what I learned:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<div id=\"attachment_37\" style=\"width: 210px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sonjaerickson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/DSC3828.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-37\" class=\"wp-image-37 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sonjaerickson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/DSC3828-e1468624564583-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"Ben and Katie at Double Arch.\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sonjaerickson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/DSC3828-e1468624564583-200x300.jpg 200w, http:\/\/www.sonjaerickson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/DSC3828-e1468624564583-768x1152.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.sonjaerickson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/DSC3828-e1468624564583-683x1024.jpg 683w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-37\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ben and Katie at Double Arch.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Only bring one suitcase of clothes! \u00a0We brought three and the packing and re-packing of all the superfluous clothes was a headache every time we moved to a new location. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 40 oz. Hydroflask with a straw top was the best investment in this trip. \u00a0Picture freezing cold water the whole day in the 100 degree heat! (thank you REI dividends)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be careful what toys you bring &#8211; because all toys become projectile items once you hit around 6 hours in the car. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The kid\u2019s kindle fires with headphones are miraculous!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sleeping in hotels with kids is awful! \u00a0Plain and simple\u2026.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GO to the Grand Tetons! \u00a0They are majestic and beautiful &#8211; don\u2019t go to Yellowstone without getting yourself down to the Tetons!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jackson, WY is an amazing city &#8211; we could have stayed there forever!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are literally no cities in Eastern Wyoming. \u00a0We entered in from Colorado and it tooks us nearly 3 hours to find somewhere to stop for lunch. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But you can go 90+ in Wyoming. \u00a0Thank God for fast speed limits!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take the back highways in Montana you won\u2019t regret it!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cody, WY has one heck of a firework display for the fourth and a cute parade!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Burger King is by far the worst fast food restaurant in the world &#8211; avoid at all costs! \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thank God for Subway!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And once you get East of Washington always ask for your salad dressing on the s<\/span><\/span>\n<div id=\"attachment_38\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sonjaerickson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/DSC4107.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-38\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-38\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sonjaerickson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/DSC4107-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"The family at Jackson Lake Lodge overlooking the Grand Tetons!\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.sonjaerickson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/DSC4107-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.sonjaerickson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/DSC4107-768x512.jpg 768w, http:\/\/www.sonjaerickson.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/DSC4107-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-38\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The family at Jackson Lake Lodge overlooking the Grand Tetons!<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ide!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indoor hotel pools are disgusting cesspools of bacteria\u2026<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Always stay in a hotel that offers breakfast &#8211; it will save you so much pain when the hangries strike.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When camping at 8000 feet elevation &#8211; make sure to bring extra blankets. \u00a0Brrrrrrr!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are a lot of cool dinosaur bones in Utah and the Natural history Museum in Salt Lake is really awesome. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And finally &#8211; Spotify rules as it allows hours of music enjoyment without all the pre-planning! \u00a0So when the mood strikes for Gordon Lightfoot &#8211; you have it!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You know we might even do this again sometime!
